What exactly is a crib conversion kit, and why didn't it come with my crib?

It's the set of parts—usually a toddler rail or full-size bed rails—that turns your convertible crib into the next stage: a toddler bed, daybed, or full bed. Most cribs are sold without these pieces to keep the price down, so you buy the kit separately when your little one is ready to move up. And it has to match your specific crib, which is where we come in.

How do I figure out which kit actually fits my crib?

Check for a label on your crib—it's usually stuck to the mattress board or on the inside of one of the rails, and it'll have the brand and model number. Match that to our listings and you're set. Not sure what you're looking at? Snap a photo of the label and send it over, or give us a call. We'd rather double-check the fit than have you order the wrong thing.

My crib's been discontinued—am I out of luck?

Probably not! Cribs get discontinued all the time, but the conversion kits often stick around long after. So even if the crib itself is gone, there's a good chance we can still track down a kit that works. Just reach out with your brand and model and we'll see what we can find.

How long does it take to actually put one of these kits together?

For most people, it's a quick job—usually 20 to 30 minutes with just a screwdriver or the hardware that comes in the box. The kits are designed to work with the holes and slots already on your crib, so you're not drilling anything new. If the instructions ever feel confusing, give us a shout and we'll walk you through it.

Is a converted crib actually safe for my toddler?

Yes, as long as you're using the right kit for your crib and it's installed properly. That's the whole point of matching the kit to your exact model—everything lines up and locks in the way the manufacturer intended. Toddler rails and guardrails are there to keep your little one from rolling out, so don't skip them or try to rig something from another crib.

My kit is missing a screw or bracket—can I just get the one part?

Reach out and we'll do our best. A whole kit shouldn't be held up by one missing bolt, so if something didn't make it into the box or went walkabout during assembly, let us know your brand and model and what you're missing. A lot of the time we can sort out the individual piece instead of making you buy the whole thing again.
