  • GROWS WITH YOU – This kit allows you to accommodate your growing child, converting your existing crib to a full-size bed. Using your crib’s headboard and footboard, these rails allow you to easily transform your crib into a full-size bed (also known as a double bed). This allows for an easy transition for growing children without completely changing their atmosphere.
  • WHAT YOU’LL NEED – Conversion Kit. Additional Slats. Mattress. 20-30 minutes of installation time. That’s it!! With the purchase of this conversion kit, you will also need to purchase additional slats and a mattress. See our great add-on options below (A box spring can be used in lieu of the additional slats; however, this will cause the bed to be much higher off the ground)
  • COMPLETE THE ROOM – See options below for popular add-ons, such as safety rails, additional slats, and mattresses
  • SAFETY FIRST – Using only water-based stains and paints, our products are non-toxic, and free of lead and phthalates.
  • LIFETIME WARRANTY – Yes, you read that right! We take pride in our products and guarantee you a lifetime of happiness.
  • QUALITY THAT LASTS – Made from 100% solid wood – NOT plywood or veneers like other rails! Max Weight capacity: 600 Pounds (when used with additional slats, sold separately)
  • WHAT YOU GET – This kit includes: 2 Wooden Bed Rails, 4 Wooden Slats, Hardware & Instructions – Additional slats MUST be purchased in order to adequately support the mattress

Children grow up quickly. Fortunately, the Bassett Baby convertible cribs can grow with them. This conversion kit easily converts select Bassett Baby cribs into big kid’s beds. Using your existing crib headboard and footboard, these bed rails allow you to turn your crib into a full size bed (also known as a double bed). This allows for an easy transition for growing children without completely changing their atmosphere. You will also need additional slats (sold separately), or a box spring (foundation or bunkie board will work also) and a mattress to convert your crib to a full bed.

Frequently Asked Questions

It's the set of parts—usually a toddler rail or full-size bed rails—that turns your convertible crib into the next stage: a toddler bed, daybed, or full bed. Most cribs are sold without these pieces to keep the price down, so you buy the kit separately when your little one is ready to move up. And it has to match your specific crib, which is where we come in.

Check for a label on your crib—it's usually stuck to the mattress board or on the inside of one of the rails, and it'll have the brand and model number. Match that to our listings and you're set. Not sure what you're looking at? Snap a photo of the label and send it over, or give us a call. We'd rather double-check the fit than have you order the wrong thing.

Probably not! Cribs get discontinued all the time, but the conversion kits often stick around long after. So even if the crib itself is gone, there's a good chance we can still track down a kit that works. Just reach out with your brand and model and we'll see what we can find.

For most people, it's a quick job—usually 20 to 30 minutes with just a screwdriver or the hardware that comes in the box. The kits are designed to work with the holes and slots already on your crib, so you're not drilling anything new. If the instructions ever feel confusing, give us a shout and we'll walk you through it.

Yes, as long as you're using the right kit for your crib and it's installed properly. That's the whole point of matching the kit to your exact model—everything lines up and locks in the way the manufacturer intended. Toddler rails and guardrails are there to keep your little one from rolling out, so don't skip them or try to rig something from another crib.

Reach out and we'll do our best. A whole kit shouldn't be held up by one missing bolt, so if something didn't make it into the box or went walkabout during assembly, let us know your brand and model and what you're missing. A lot of the time we can sort out the individual piece instead of making you buy the whole thing again.
